Hello

Hello! Welcome to my blog. I’m so glad…

Wow. How cliché. Since this is an about me post, I really ought to make it clear that “typical” is not my jam.

So, I’ll skip all that “welcome! I’m so glad you’re joining me on this journey!” stuff and get on with it.

About Me

I'm L.D. Christianson, a writer who tends to ramble. Hence the title and subtitle for the site.

People I know call me an “old soul,” though I prefer to think of myself as a time traveler. If something happened after Y2K, it's more likely than not that I know nothing about it.

I love mysteries, sci-fi, jazz, and 70s music. If my free time is not occupied by writing, reading, or watching a show, I’m probably making music or doing something artsy-craftsy.

All of these interests will probably show up on the blog at some point, so if they sound appealing, stay tuned.

About the Blog

I've wanted to start a blog off and on for a while now. I'd go on Pinterest, get bombarded with all those "How I made Six Figures Blogging" posts, get overwhelmed, then get off the blogging bus.

Well, fast forward to now. I'm over halfway through my bachelor's in creative writing and starting to look into what I want to do with my life. Everything I find requires this pesky thing called "experience."

Shockingly, scrawling half-finished stories in spiral notebooks late into the night is not considered experience. It's practice, sure, but it doesn't add much to a resumé.

What does look good, on the other hand, is a .com after your name. It shows that you take things seriously enough to put yourself out there. It gives people a place to see your work, and writing is all about being read.

Hopefully a lot of you will become my regular readers. If you are interested in any of these topics, stick around:

  • Book/TV reviews. I'll try to make them more interesting than the ones on Amazon or IMDB.

  • Essays inspired by research I'm doing for other writing projects

  • Thoughts on the craft of writing

  • Anecdotes from both my life and imagination

  • Other assorted writings & ramblings

Before I go, I want to briefly touch on my current blogging plan and give you an idea of what to expect. The old saying "expect the unexpected" about sums it up. I'm not a full time blogger right now, and I don't pretend to be. I'll try to produce a consistent stream of posts, but it will probably be more of a creek than a mighty river. Right now I'm juggling school, blogging, and other writing projects. I also have to eat, clean, and even sleep from time to time. So, I can't in good faith promise a regular posting schedule.

What I can promise you is that every post will be crafted with care. I can't be perfect, but I can strive to weave a bit of my own unique style and perspective into everything I write.

If you're reading this, I'm very thankful. If you're looking forward to following my writing adventures, please like this post and let me know you're here.
